When we talk about gravity, we tend to focus on the force that pulls objects towards the surface of Earth. This definition is incomplete. In this video, students will understand and define gravitational force. By definition, it is the attractive force that exists between any two non-zero masses separated by a distance in our universe.
This video satisfies the 5-PS2-1 requirement of fifth-grade science proficiency.
Students who demonstrate understanding can: 5-PS2-1. Support an argument that the gravitational force exerted by Earth on objects is directed down.
