This video will serve as an introduction for the students to the concept of gravitational force. Gravitational force is the invisible pulling force between two objects. When we look at it with reference to our Earth, it is the force that acts on all objects and pulls them towards Earth. Gravity enables us to do fun stuff, such as skiing, skydiving, and playing tennis. It is a general rule that higher the mass of an object, the higher will be its gravitation force. Planets orbit around the sun due to this very force. If gravity disappears, we will surely be in a lot of trouble!
This video satisfies the 5-PS2-1 requirement of fifth-grade science proficiency.
Students who demonstrate understanding can: 5-PS2-1. Support an argument that the gravitational force exerted by Earth on objects is directed down.
