Forces are all around us. But what is a force? It is either a push or pull. Every force has strength and direction which causes an effect. A force acting on an object may be balanced or unbalanced. In this video, you are going to learn the differences between the two forces and the effect of these forces on the motion of an object. Unbalanced forces can cause an object to change its motion while balanced forces do not cause a change in motion. This fun and engaging video uses relatable examples such as a game of tug-of-war to help students understand the concepts better.
This video satisfies the 3-PS2-1 requirement for the third grade proficiency.
Students who demonstrate understanding can:
3-PS2-1. Plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object.
