Balanced and Unbalanced Forces

Published on January 2, 2022 by

In this video, you are going to learn about balanced and unbalanced forces with the help of some cool experiments. This video demonstrates the concept of balanced forces using an example of pan balance and coins. If we put the same amount of coins on both sides, they will cancel the effect of each other, and the pan balance will remain static. Similarly, this video will also explain the concept of gravity using an example of a book and a stool. You can also perform the science experiment shown in the video at home. The experiments will help students visualize these concepts which will increase their cognitive understanding.

This video satisfies the 3-PS2-1 requirement for third-grade science proficiency.

Students who demonstrate understanding can:

3-PS2-1. Plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object.
