Every now and then, we come across reports about water scarcity, gas shortages, and diminishing minerals. These reports are alarming us that natural resources are in danger of disappearing. In this video, Miguel Almaguer will explain the issue at hand. The raw materials that come from nature are critical for our survival. When there is shortage of some natural resource, the resulting effects on the environment are quite prominent. This video features two such case studies: effects of loss of pine trees on water supply and carbon balance in Colorado, and the effects of severe draught in California. How can we help in this situation? We can use the 3R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle to slow down the depletion of natural resources.
