Join Kaushay as she uses an experiment to explain and demonstrate how weathering, erosion, and deposition occurs. This small experiment will help students understand how rocks weather because of rainfall, flowing rivers, blowing winds, and moving glaciers. The takeaway is that weathering breaks the sediment; erosion takes the sediment; and deposition drops the sediment.

This video satisfies the 4-ESS2-1 requirement of fourth-grade science proficiency.

Students who demonstrate understanding can: 4-ESS2-1. Make observations and/or measurements to provide evidence of the effects of weathering or the rate of erosion by water, ice, wind, or vegetation.
